Get to know CURF’s newest Tech Analyst Intern

We are excited to welcome Brenda Okereke to the CURF Team as our newest Tech Analyst Intern! Brenda is a New Jersey native and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University-New Brunswick. She is currently a 4th year PhD Candidate in Clemson’s Bioengineering program conducting breast cancer research.

Brenda finds the differentiation of each technology the most exciting part of the technology transfer and commercialization process. Since starting her role this semester, she has been fascinated by seeing the wide variety of different products, solutions, and markets in which Clemson researchers are developing novel products.

Her industry experience makes her a great fit for the role, as Brenda brings a new perspective and background to our team. She’s worked in Transactions and External Innovation/Search and Evaluation in big pharma, as well as holding R&D roles. Most notably, her experience in the licensing space gives her easily transferable skills to excel in developing CURF’s IP efforts. Brenda also has venture investing knowledge through her VC certificate she earned from the University of California, Berkeley.

In Brenda’s free time, she enjoys indulging in reality TV or watching her favorite anime shows, traveling, trying different foods, and staying active.

Welcome, Brenda!
