Patricia “Patti” H. McAbee

Greenville resident, McAbee, is the president and founder of Patti McAbee Consulting, Inc., a firm specializing in nonprofit fundraising and program assessment. Since its establishment in 2006, her consulting work has helped numerous organizations meet and exceed their capital campaign goals, including raising more than $100 million for various initiatives. McAbee’s expertise in fundraising has also extended to her role as Vice President at Custom Development Solutions, where she managed multimillion-dollar campaigns, including the successful $68 million capital campaign for The Salvation Army’s Kroc Center in Greenville.

McAbee was the first woman to serve the Clemson Board of Trustees and has been a distinguished member since 1993. Throughout her term, McAbee has played an influential role in advancing Clemson’s mission of educational excellence and community engagement, using her extensive background in nonprofit administration, strategic planning, and fundraising.

In addition to her service on the Board of Trustees, McAbee’s commitment to Clemson University is further demonstrated through her service on other Clemson boards and committees. These include multiple stints on the Clemson University Foundation Board of Directors and the Clemson Alumni Association Board of Directors to name a few. In addition, she has also given her time to various public boards and organizations throughout South Carolina. She has received many prestigious honors, including the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest civilian award, for her contributions to her community and state.

McAbee earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the College of Charleston and pursued post-graduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
